For medical emergencies on Camposol CALL 112 then CALL FAST on 868 487 015 for immediate First Aid support
What We Do
FAST is a First Aid Response Team operated by trained volunteers on Camposol to provide vital First Aid support in the interval between the onset of a medical emergency and the arrival of an ambulance. We have two fully equipped response vehicles and our response times are typically less than ten minutes. Our service, which first started in 2011, operates 24 hour per day, 7 days per week.
The work that FAST does in the community was recognised on the 22nd July 2018 by the presentation of a certificate of recognition by the British Embassy in Madrid.
Our Responders are fully trained and authorised by the Murcian Health Authority. Training includes, administering immediate First Aid, stopping catastrophic bleeds, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) and monitoring a patients vital signs so that they have the best possible chance of survival while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
We do not attempt to substitute professional medical ambulance treatment, but offer an rapid response service to Camposol residents and visitors in the vital minutes before an ambulance arrives. These few minutes can make a huge difference to the outcome of a medical emergency.
FAST also has a number of Responders who are trained in 'Mental Health First Aid'
Although FAST is a voluntary organisation and everyone within the organisation gives their time freely, we do require funding in order to operate. We need money to maintain our response vehicles, to replenish basic equipment, for training and training aids, for AEDs and a multitude of other operating costs.
To raise the money needed to operate, FAST has a dedicated team of fund raisers who work tirelessly organising events and outings to raise much needed funds. See Support Us for more information on Fundraising Events.
