HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

 

IT IS THE POLICY OF FAST TO SEEK TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL ITS RESPONDERS, SUPPORT STAFF AND CLIENTS/PATIENTS. TO THAT END, FAST IS COMMITTED TO THE REMOVAL OF POTENTIAL HAZARDS, WHERE POSSIBLE, AND TO SETTING UP PROCEDURES FOR DEALING WITH UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS AND ANY RESULTING INCIDENTS THAT MAY OCCUR. FAST WILL ALSO PROVIDE APPROPRIATE TRAINING IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE LIKELIHOOD OF SUCH INCIDENTS. FAST RECOGNISES ITS RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO MAY BE AFFECTED BY ITS WORK AND ACTIVITIES, ESPECIALLY ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS. FAST WILL MEET THESE RESPONSIBILITIES, IN PARTICULAR PAYING ATTENTION TO THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FOLLOWING:

 

OUR STATEMENT OF GENERAL POLICY

·        TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE CONTROL OF HEALTH AND SAFETY RISKS ARISING FROM OUR WORK ACTIVITIES

·        TO CONSULT WITH OUR VOLUNTEERS ON MATTERS AFFECTING THEIR HEALTH AND SAFETY

·        TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN SAFE VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT

·        TO ENSURE SAFE HANDLING OF ALL EQUIPMENT AND SUBSTANCES

·        TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, INSTRUCTIONS AND SUPERVISION FOR VOLUNTEERS

·        TO ENSURE ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE COMPETENT TO CARRY OUT THEIR TASKS AND TO PROVIDE THE ADEQUATE NECESSARY TRAINING

·        TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND CASES OF WORK-RELATED ILL HEALTH

·        TO MAINTAIN SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKING CONDITIONS
